Frequently Asked Questions

What Would You Like to Know?

Where are you based

We are in Measham in the East Midlands. We sit between junctions 11 & 12 of the M42/A42, which is close to the M1. We sit on the 4 counties borders. We are really easy to find.

What health tests should I ask to see

As a minimum, you should ask to see DNA testing for hereditary conditions from the Cavalier side of the cross. These include, Dry Eye, Curly Coat & Episodic Falling. Often shortened to DE CC EF. It is important that the mum (usually the cavalier or cavapoo) has a heart test by a qualified MRCVS vet, to check for any heart murmur.  This test should be clear. You should see an annual BVA Eye test and it should be clear of cataracts or any other serious problems. For the stud (usually the poodle) you should see an annual BVA Eye test or a DNA test for PRA.These above are the minimum one should expect to see.
Listed below are some more abbreviated tests that your breeder may have tested for.
Degenerative Myelopathy / Degenerative Radiculomyelopathy) DM (Exon 2), MH (Malignant Hyperthermia), Neonatal encephalopathy (NE / NEWS), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (prcd-PRA) , von Willebrand disease Type I (vWD I)
